Best Baked Beans with Bacon
Ingredients:
- 4 slices of bacon, chopped
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cans 28 ounces each of baked beans, drained
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons molasses
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions:
Set the oven temperature to 175C 350F
Cook the chopped bacon over medium heat in a large ovenproof skillet until crispy
The bacon grease should remain in the skillet after the bacon has been removed and set aside
When the bacon grease is in the skillet, add the finely chopped onion and saut it until it turns translucent and starts to caramelize
Add the ketchup, brown sugar, molasses, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt after the baked beans have been drained
Toss to thoroughly mix in all the ingredients
Drizzle the beans mixture with the crispy bacon pieces
After transferring the skillet to the oven, preheat it for 30 to 40 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened to your desired consistency and the beans are thoroughly heated
If desired, top the best baked beans with bacon with extra bacon bits
Serve hot
