Browned Butter Sugar Cookies

Browned butter sugar cookies have a rich flavor and a delightful nutty undertone from the browned butter. They are ideal for any occasion!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions:

Set the oven to 350F 175C and heat it up

Melt the butter over medium-low heat in a saucepan

Stir the butter often as it continues to cook until it turns golden brown and smells nutty

Take it off the heat and let it cool down a bit

Put the browned butter and sugar into a bowl and mix them together

Mix everything together well

Mix the egg and vanilla extract into the sugar and butter

Mix until it's nice and smooth

Mix the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt together in a different bowl

Mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients one at a time until you get a soft cookie dough

Put the dough in the fridge for about 30 minutes with the plastic wrap on top to make it firm

Put parchment paper on the bottom of a baking sheet

Take dough balls about the size of a tablespoon and roll them into balls

Leaving some space between each cookie, put the dough balls on the baking sheet that has been made ready

Gently press down on each cookie ball with the bottom of a glass or a fork

Take the cookies out of the oven and heat it up

Bake them for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown

After taking the cookies out of the oven, let them cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before moving them to a wire rack to cool all the way down

If you want, you can dust the cookies with powdered sugar or decorate them with icing after they are completely cool

Enjoy your tasty browned butter sugar cookies that you made yourself!
